The Best Pizza Restaurants in Perth

Pappagallo

First on our list of the best 15 pizza restaurants in Perth, is Pappagallo.

If you’re looking for a taste of Italy, Pappagallo is the place to go. They import all of their ingredients from Italy – they are that serious about achieving authentic flavours.

So from the flour that comes to the Sanz Maranzo tomatoes, you’ll get a pop of Italy in every bite. Even the parma ham has been imported and tastes authentically delicious. Pappagallo is the pizzeria for you if you’re looking for the real Italian deal.

Monsterella Pizza

Location: 46 Grantham St, Wembley, WA 6014 Ph: (08) 9287 2949

Next on our list of the best pizzerias in Perth, is Monsterella.

This is a family-owned restaurant and is a big hit with the locals. In fact, you’re definitely going to want to book in advance. Monsterella is always busy, so to guarantee yourself a table, you should give them a call.

It’s probably due to the fact that the dough is naturally risen for 48-hours, creating the most delicious pizza base. Chewy, light, and thin – they serve dynamite pizzas.

Rossonero Pizzeria

Location: 18 Lyric Ln, Maylands, WA 6051

For traditional wood-fired pizzas, our next suggestion is Rossonero.

Now, this pizza joint used to be a former garage. While you can no longer get your oil changed here, you can certainly get one of the best pizzas in Perth.

They serve mouthwatering wood-fired pizzas, that have been baked to perfection. The result is a light and thin pizza that you thought could only exist in your dreams.

If you’re dining with vegans, they will feel right at home. They serve vegan pizzas, with vegan cheese, so no one is left out.

With a true Italian flair, they also have an espresso bar out front, so you can get a taste of little Italy.

Bytes Pizza Pockets

Location: Unit 3/104-108 Erindale Rd, Balcatta, WA 6021 Ph: (08) 6219 6009

Bytes is not a Pizza restaurant as such, more a quick-serve pizza bar.

We’ve put Bytes on this list because of their interesting twist on the traditional pizza – the pizza pocket – and this is the pizza bar’s signature offering.

The pockets are made with the same dough as the pizza bases, baked to perfection then filled with a variety of mouth-watering fillings that are all sliced, diced, chopped, marinated and cooked fresh in store everyday.

The pizza bases are consistently light and airy, with the dough fermented under strict temperature controls before being hand stretched and baked. The gluten-free option is handmade in store and is excellent.

Editor’s Note: We been have informed that Bytes are currently closed. We will let you know when we know more. As this is the case, why not check out the following pizza joint instead?

Solo Pizza

Location: Shop 5, 135a Coode St, South Perth, WA 6151 Ph: (08) 9367 6007

With a 4.7 Google Reviews rating and many claiming that Solo Pizza makes the best pizzas in Perth, you won’t want to miss this spot.

Thin and crusty are the go here with the dough made daily and only the freshest ingredients used for the toppings.

La Perla - Pizzas

Solo Pizza offers both dine in and take away and turns out a range of both classics and more unusual flavour combinations. Personally, we find it hard to resist a fully loaded Quattro Formaggi – tomato sauce, mozzarella, brie, feta and parmiggiano. That said, the Pancetta – tomato sauce, mozzarella, fresh mushrooms, Italian mild pancetta and gorgonzola – might persuade us to try something different!

Si Paradiso

Location: 1/446 Beaufort St, Highgate, WA 6003

Next on our list of the best 15 pizza restaurants in Perth, is Si Paradiso

If you’re looking for a pizza restaurant with a twist, then pop down to Si Paradiso. They have a wonderful menu, with exquisite Italian selections.

Their pizzas are Neapolitan-style, which means that you’re going to be chewing on a delicious, fluffy pizza. If you’re a big fan of seafood, then you’ll love their whole menu. Our recommendation is their tuna tartar cannoli, which is to die for.

Canteen Pizza

Location: 110 Marine Parade, Cottesloe, WA 6011

If you’re looking for pizza with ocean views then you must consider, Canteen.

Canteen is a pizza joint, with a big difference. That big difference? It’s a beachfront restaurant, with stunning views. Of course, you could be traditional and have some fish and chips at the beach, or – you could try something new, exciting, and straight-up delicious.

Canteen serves Neapolitan-style pizza, and they have an excellent wine list. If you’re going to enjoy a bottle of wine, it should be while gazing out at the ocean, and enjoying a gentle sea breeze.

Canteen’s slogan of “Pizza, wine and a real good time”, is apt. They serve authentic Italian pizzas that delight, a must-try is the fior di latte. With beautiful views of the seaside and amazing pizza, they won’t let you down.

Location: 290B Cambridge St, Wembley, WA 6014 Ph: 0423 604 025

For pizza by the slice, there’s always Mozzico.

Mozzico is the place to go if you’re looking for a quick lunch, or you’re looking for a quirky date spot. That’s because they serve Roman-style pizza by the slice, giving the pizza joint a retro feel.

If you’re hungry, and getting a couple of slices is your nightmare, don’t fret. You can also order pizza by the quarter tray, or half tray – so there’s more than enough to go around.

Editor’s Note: Unfortunately, it seems that Mozzico has closed. As this is the case, why not try this much-loved spot instead…?

Eight Slices Italian Kitchen

Location: Drovers Market Place, Shop 7/1397 Wanneroo Rd, Wanneroo, WA 6065 Ph: (08) 9306 2017

This simple eatery might not be the flashiest spot in town, but boy are their Pizzas popular. As the name indicates, the pies here are the Classic 12 inch, cut in to 8 slices.

However, these folks know how to shake things up a bit. Their Otto Grandi range is proof of this. A huge 22 inch Pizza, carved into 4 quarters and with each chunk bearing different toppings. For example, the Family Favourite ($49) pops all the flavours of a Hawaiian, a Pepperoni, a Supreme and a Meatlovers Pizza onto their own section and serves them up on one very big Pizza. How cool is that?

Also at 17a/1-7 Marshall Rd, Myaree, WA 6154 Ph: (08) 6460 6189

A longstanding Perth favourite, Ciao Italia, had to make our list.

Ciao Italia has been open since 1999, serving Perth for over 20 years. It’s an incredibly popular restaurant because as soon as you walk into the doors, you feel like you’ve been transported to Italy.

It has gorgeous, tantalizing Italian music, filling the restaurant with beautiful melodies. You’ll just find waiters who truly care about you and your requests, and want to give you an authentic taste of Italy.

The inside of Ciao Italia looks like it’s been designed by a beloved nonna, and it looks beautiful. The pizza here is insane and is probably as authentic as you can get. We totally recommend booking a reservation in Ciao Italia, you won’t regret it.

Summary

We’ve researched and tested dozens of different pizzerias in Perth to discover what we consider to the very best.

Whilst some restaurants on our list have been around for generations, others are relative newcomers to the Perth food scene. What they all do have in common, is that they’ve been taste-tested by an Eatability reviewer.

We’ve deliberatedly chosen to showcase a mixture of both the traditional Italian neighbourhood pizzeria and also more contemporary establishments, some of which offer a particular modern take on what is essentially simple peasant, unfussy food, little changed in centuries.

Good luck, choose wisely and enjoy.
